Cooper - Growing up

I haven't had very many "funny" school stories in awhile. But I have a great one now. I have been taking Cooper to school this past week. On Tuesday I walk in and his teacher says oh Cooper we are so glad you are here, I need help hushing these babies. I didn't think much of the comment. Then she says, do you guys shhhh him alot? I said us? No, I don't know that I have ever done that. (you know put your finger up to your mouth and say shhhhhhhh) She says well Cooper does. He went up to one of the little girl's cribs that was crying and looked at her, put his finger up to his mouth and SHHHHHHHHHHH!

I about fell on the floor laughing. Seriously can you picture it? I have been trying so hard to get him to do it at home with no luck. The day he shhhhs us, do you laugh or what?

He has really starting talking or per his teacher trying to communicate using "his words". Honestly, I think its because he can finally hear. It's great, but I feel awful that my little baby might just have not been able to hear before the tube surgery. Bad mommy moment. Think he will forgive me?

Cooper's Birthday Party (Yes -this was his 3rd party.)

I know you just want to see the pictures from his party, so here they are. I tried to get pictures of everyone that came. I think everybody had a great time at Cooper's 1st birthday party.

I am so thankful...

We had all of my family here for Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time! Cooper especially loved playing with his cousins. Take a look at a few pics.

I have so many things I am thankful for, but topping out the list....

Cooper - Just like the song we sing every night - "You will never know dear how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away!"

Cooper's First College Football Game

k

Sadly it was not a FSU game. (Don't worry - everyone who knows me knows I would not let Cooper grow up to be anything but a FSU fan, but we go to support Daddy - so keep smiling.)

Actually he did great. He LOVED tailgating. He loved walking up into other people's tailgates and staring at them. Honestly, it was hilarious. I mean come on. He's 1. He doesn't understand that staring at people isn't the nicest thing to do. He did make a couple of friends while we were tailgating and he was interrupting them and they came over to play. They actually had a little brother a couple of months older than Cooper, named Cooper! So they really thought it was fun to play with a little boy named the same thing as their brother.

Then came the game. There was some drama getting into the game - note to self don't bring a bookbag that just has diapers in it to afootball game. They won't let you in. Then we couldn't get to our seat due to all the people. Finally, we got to our seats and Cooper wasn't phased one bit. He had a few laughs, some clapping, a few touchdown moves and then the second quarter started. And Cooper fell asleep. No joke - sound asleep. What a sweet baby boy.

Dear Cooper...

Dear Cooper,

Happy 1st birthday my sweet boy. I can't believe how fast this year has flown by. It seems like just yesterday your dad and I were scared to death to take you home. We still remember those first few weeks where we all were trying to figure out how we were going to make it, and we all did!

Watching you discover new things each and every day has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever been a part of. You are walking all over the place and trying to run when you really put your mind to getting somewhere ASAP. You have four teeth on top and two on bottom and you are finally learning how to use them. You have also started grunting for things - we think you picked that up at school. We need to get rid of that habit pretty quickly. You can also say DaDa, baby, bye bye, hi, and ball.
Cooper you are a wonderful baby -well I guess toddler now. And you are too cute for words. Always remember we will always love you and support you. We hope that we can help you learn right from wrong, how to be a good citizen and to always stay close with your family. (Let's go ahead and put this in writing. You have already agreed to always be with me on important days and all holidays. When I mentioned it to you, you smiled and I took that as agreeing - so please note for the future!)
We love you Cooper - all the way to the moon and back!
Love,
Mom and Dad

Happy Birthday Cooper! We love you so much. Here are some pictures from your birthday so far (more to come)! You had your first haircut today. You were such a good little boy. You had so much fun driving the police car, while the lady cut your hair. Take a look at how cute...
